“When death’s dark stream I ferry o’re,
a time that surely shall come,
in Heav’n itself I’ll ask no more,
than just a Hieland welcome.”
Robert Burns, Poet Laureate of Scotland (1759-1796)
The St. Andrews Society of Baltimore is deeply saddened by the passing of
William R. Campbell, Jr
William R. Campbell, Jr. was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the 42nd President of the St. Andrew Society of Baltimore from 1989 to 1991. He passed away quietly in the early morning of March 14, in Chestertown at the grand age of 95. Bill was very active in the Society being a friend and mentor for many who had the opportunity to follow in the line of Presidents. He was well thought of and will be greatly missed.
May 11th is the date for our next Stated Meeting and there could be no finer way to wear the kilt than to attend the memorial service for Bill at the Naval Academy Chapel at 2 p.m. and then transition over to Towson after the reception at the Officer’s Club. Call Don Kerr to arrange a ride on the bus.
